Alleyne's School
Alleyne’s School evolved from two schools: Thomas Alleyn’s Grammar School, formed in 1558 and Edward Wiltshire’s school for the poor of 1562. The school has been known as Allens, Alleynes, the Free School, the English School, The Endowed School and the Grammar School, before merging with the Girls’ Grammar School in 1989 to become the Thomas Alleyne School.
