A photo of the Burrett family on the platform of the old railway station which was taken around 1972, not long before this station was closed and replaced by the new one in the town centre.

  • I know this station well getting steam trains to London and then the diesel engines took over. The waiting room was normal at that time as all stations were like that.

    I married and lived in Knebworth and again lovely old station and waiting room.

    Then it all changed…

  • I did the same commute at the same time as Christine and it was two buses from Shephall to the station.
    Ps I’m sure Christine was at Heathcote?

  • I took the express commuter train from this station for three years (1968-1970) to London for work… I remember the cosy waiting room with a fireplace….. but it was a way for me to go from my home in Shephall, the new location would of been so much easier for me…..
