My Dad did the electrics for the fountain (behind the statue in the pics) when it was first built. I remember him telling me a story that one night, on the way back from the pub, he noticed that it had stopped working. He took off his shoes and socks and waded in to fix it – to the bemusement of some policemen walking past!
