I was there from Jan 62 – 65 and it wasn’t completed then. Just a big dip with sloped sides all grassed over. They did have archery there in the summer but generally we just used it for lazing around summer lunch times.
I attended Stevenage College in the mid 70s. Yes it was completed though hardly used. Sadly I believe (From looking at Google maps) that when the supermarket took over the site and the college moved they filled the theatre in.
