Pin Green Water Tower

I couldn’t resist the opportunity to take an image of the water tower in Pin Green.

Even more tempting was to use my Quadcopter and get an aerial view. This image is a panoramic composite of 6 images taken with a GoPro Hero 3 Black on board a Phantom 1 Quad.

[This post was edited on 18 October 2022, to remove erroneous references to Bedwell, a different area of Stevenage from Pin Green. As a number of commenters have pointed out, the water tower is in Pin Green, not Bedwell. Ed.]

  • Pin Green water tower is alleged to be the highest point along the A1 between here and Doncaster.

    Further, according to Daniel Defoe’s tour of the British Isles, Weston Woods, just south of Baldock overlooking Muddy Lane, was a renowned haunt for footpads and highwaymen. They were alleged to have waited in the cover of the woods, watching for stage coaches travelling on the Great North Road to get bogged down in the mud. A soft target affording an easy get-away…
