I know this station well getting steam trains to London and then the diesel engines took over. The waiting room was normal at that time as all stations were like that.
I married and lived in Knebworth and again lovely old station and waiting room.
Then it all changed…
I did the same commute at the same time as Christine and it was two buses from Shephall to the station.
Ps I’m sure Christine was at Heathcote?
I took the express commuter train from this station for three years (1968-1970) to London for work… I remember the cosy waiting room with a fireplace….. but it was a way for me to go from my home in Shephall, the new location would of been so much easier for me…..
