As I recall, the group of Barnwell sixth formers in this photo were at the Cromwell for a special lunch before travelling down to London to appear on a live Anglia TV programme called ‘Probe meets …’, a younger version of their current affairs program called Probe. Six of us were given the opportunity to put questions to Shirley Williams, the local MP at the time. I remember we were very excited and also apprehensive about appearing on TV – there were only three channels in those days – but we were well looked after and it was a great experience!
