  • I can recall being aged about 8 or 9 years old and playing in a marshy area in centre of which was a natural spring, one could clearly see the water bubbling up to form a pond, the water was cold and crystal clear. this area is now the sight [site Ed.] of the town centre gardens. I guess the small lake within those gardens is fed from this spring.
