I remember going into the wool shop at the oval in 1979 or 78 and my mum bought me some knitting needles I was 8.

I remember getting the lady Di hair cut it cost £5. Can’t remember name of hairdressers or wool shop. I loved the chip shop and my sister used to buy me a lemonade Lolly for 9p. i miss the 1970s I lived loads of places ripon rd, Canterbury way, Southwark place, poppy mead, walken [Walkern. Ed.]. I loved getting my 1p and 1/2p sweets fom st Nicholas news agents. i remember when there was no shops on a Sunday. I have happy memories. who remembered nitty Nora searching your hair for nits lol

  • I had the best time growing up in the 60’s and 70’s in Stevenage. All the great old pubs along the High Street in the Old Town. Bo Jangles on a Friday and Saturday Night.
    I Vaguely remember Saturday Morning dancing at the Mecca during the late 60’s. Does anyone out there remember that?
